How to Live "Your Best Life"

I’ve been seeing a lot of social media ”influencers” showing you “how to live your best life,” and it’s usually an image of material opulence.  I just want to remind you that your definition of “your best life” does not need to fit anyone else’s definition.

For me, my best life consists of this: I wake up in the morning and my first activity is walking my puppies to get the blood flowing.  Then I work on my laptop in my garden next to the buzzing bees and my lavender, fresh cup of hazelnut coffee in hand.  The work I do is fulfilling.  No one tells me I need to put on makeup or dress up in uncomfortable office clothes.  No one talks to me unless I want them to.

I pick up some fresh veggies for lunch.  Then work until 5:00pm before I sign off and tend to the garden.  I end the day with another fresh from-the-garden meal and working on soothing hobbies like knitting, reading, or writing.

And that’s my best life and I’m living it.  So define your best life before you let others lead you down a path that isn’t even for you.
