The good thing about getting older is you will (or you should) figure out the styles and colors that work for you, and you stick with those styles and colors no matter what the fashion world tries to sell you every season.  Fast fashion no longer has power over me.  I don’t care what new trends H&M and Forever21 came out with this week.  Remember: the fashion world’s job is to sell you trends that will look ridiculous and unflattering on you in a few weeks, so you’re incentivized to buy more, which is terrible for your wallet, sanity, and the environments.

I know my staples are V-necks, cardigans, A-line, skinny pants, and I should never ever stray away from the color palettes of blue, green, purple, and burgundy.  And that’s what I’m sticking with forever.  I don’t care what Black Friday sales or the new Fall collections have to offer.  This old curmudgeon lady is sticking to her classic basics.  And that is an incredibly liberating feeling.
