Conversation with my 11-year-old nephew:

N: "I watched your video about grandma. I didn't know she grew up during the war."

Me: "Well...we ALL grew up during a war."

N: "Yeah...I grew up during the Afghanistan war."

And it dawned on me...that we ALL grew up during a war. There isn't a single one of us who was spared from growing up DURING a war.

But some of us grew up IN a war. And THAT is the difference.
