Crackled Glaze and Follow the Flow

The way this captivating vase chose me was as fascinating as the meticulously crackled, charcoal lines that trace her sky-blue glaze. One week before my birthday, I met up with my family in Virginia to celebrate. As I was aimlessly wandering around the Yorktown Riverwalk, I stumbled upon a local sushi place owned by a Korean couple. What immediately caught my eyes were the beautiful handmade potteries and art works displayed on the walls. The owners have collected these items over the years from South Korea.

The owner caught me admiring the exquisite craftsmanship on this vase and asked “Do you like it?” With glassy eyes, I responded, “I love it! Do you sell these pieces? I’ll buy them from you.”

“If you love it, you can have it. I’ll gift it to you.”

I could not believe my ears and insisted once again to charge my bill for the vase. But he just wanted me to leave a nice Google review in return. Of course I will leave the most glowing review I can possibly write!

And to think, the only reason I found this place was because the previous restaurant I attempted had turned me away because they weren’t accepting takeout orders. When the Universe nudges you in certain directions, it’s because there’s something better waiting for you just down the road. So don’t get frustrated and resist. Follow the flow of the Universe, like the elegant crackles yieldingly follow the flow of the glaze. You won’t regret it.
